“Using Informatics and Health Services Research (HSR) Approaches to Analyze Electronic Health Record (EHR) Data”

Kevin Wiley, Jr. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Healthcare Leadership and Management at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) where he teaches in the Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) and joint Clemson-MUSC Biomedical Data Science and Informatics (BDSI) PhD programs. Before his role at MUSC, Dr. Wiley served as the 2021-2022 Phyllis Torda Health Care Quality and Equity Fellow at the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). He most recently completed a Leadership Fellowship as part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH)-sponsored Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for the Advancement of Health Equity and Researcher Diversity (AIM-AHEAD) program. Dr. Wiley completed his Ph.D. in Health Policy and Management with a concentration in Public and Population Health Informatics at Indiana University. During this time, he was a T15 Biomedical Informatics and Data Science pre-doctoral trainee sponsored by the National Library of Medicine/National Institutes of Health and Health Policy Research Scholarship at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). Dr. Wiley’s research examines the implications of electronic health record (EHR) data quality on healthcare outcomes in chronic disease settings.
